Current Thinking
The majority of our funding both at home and overseas has been to organisations working with a wide variety of disabilities. Our key aim in this funding is to find ways to improve quality of life for people with disabilities which may include social and leisure opportunities or ways into employment or volunteering.
We have recently looked to refocus our work with young people. We look for organisations or projects that focus on younger disabled people but are also seeking high quality work with disadvantaged young people. We are looking for projects that engage disadvantaged young people through those things that are likely to make them wish to take up services. We have identified care leavers as a group of young people of particular interest at this time.
As a consequence of this approach we have an interest in sporting opportunities as a means of empowering disadvantaged and disabled people.(please note however that we do not fund individuals)
