Application Process

Resouces
Before you apply

Before you apply to the Sylvia Adams Charitable Trust please make sure that you have read carefully the section What we will fund to ensure that your work falls within our specific areas of concern.

Even if your work is consistent with our areas of concern, this does not necessarily mean that you will be awarded a grant. We receive many applications and it is sadly true that our funds will not enable us to support all of them, however good and worthwhile the work may be. We apologise for the disappointment this can cause.

How to apply

The application process consists of two stages:

Stage 1: This can only be done on line using the link above and must be submitted to us electronically.

You need to complete:

1. The Funding Application Form and

2. A description of what you are seeking funding for, no more than two A4 pages. In this please include:

  • your organisation: a brief description of what you do
  • project description: what the work will include
  • rationale: why this work is needed
  • results: what you hope to achieve
  • budget: the proposed expenditure and the grant sought

We will usually let you know within a month if you are going to be invited to submit a fuller application or that we will not be taking your application further

Stage 2: Some applicants will be invited to submit a fuller application. You will be asked to include:

  • A more detailed project proposal
  • Your latest audited accounts

(both the above to be sent by email)

  • Most recent annual review if you have one, sent as a hard copy

As part of our evaluation of your application, the Director may telephone you, or arrange to meet with you, to discuss it further.

We aim to let all Stage 2 applicants have a decision within 4 months of receiving their application.
